In Knee: chondromalacia, lateral release surgery [Archive] - HealthBoards

I am thinking about having surgery done for my chondromalacia(both knees). my Dr said I may also need a lateral release (again, both knees). I was wondering about the procedure for both and what the recovery is like--how long, etc. :confused: My understanding is that lateral release is the surgery of choice for chondromalacia.
